UK emissions rise on economic recovery

radiatorAs the UK economy recovered in 2010, GHG emissions rose 3.1%; the recession had caused a drop of 8.7% the previous year. The new Energy and Climate Change Secretary Ed Davey attributed the rise, the first in almost a decade, to increased home heating during a cold winter and shutdowns at nuclear power stations.
